classical conditioning of uniforms

Police officers, paramedics and judges have their own uniform. Its often just seen as a signal to the outside world. Making other around us realize we are currently performing a profession.

A bigger contribution of a uniform however is the signal sent to oneself while wearing it. A surgeon knows his personal life is "on hold" while performing an operation. A dustman doesn't leave a sprite-can on the floor if he despise the brand. And a police man should not scream at you just because he woke up with the wrong foot. A uniform is more an armor for ourselves than for the outside world.
