interests and your calling

Your "calling" in life is what you really want to do. You believe you have this mission, which is such important and it is gonna make this world so much better. And when this world becomes better because of you, yeah then you will feel like you have achieved it. You are a bad person if you make this world worse. So, it is just logical that you will be a good person if you make this world better. And who doesn't want to be a good person. Only then have your time and energy been spent right way. The way society wants us do spent it. Also who wants to be the human who has "wasted" all these resources he or she has got. Your family and friends have invested so much into you, so we expect you to give something back.

There is another side to this coin:

You really want to do what you find interesting. What makes your eyes go wide, puts a smile on your face and whatever makes your heart pump faster. The thing which lets you loose track of time. Whatever it is, this is what you really love to do. Maybe it is a coincidence that this will also make the world a better place. However, this is much more a symptom of you living your life and not the reason. Life might be sooo easy if you started spending your day with what you find really interesting. But who knows?
