“To make the world a better place” – this is what this website stands for, what I stand for. In order to make the world “better” we first have to acknowledge that some parts need to be completely changed, some need to be adjusted and some should stay as they are. I have decided that my thoughts on “The Golden Rule” of Ethics have to be my first contribution with every human being. There are two reasons for that: First, I believe that almost all of us need to integrate this rule much more into our lifes. In the way we think and especially interact with our surrounding world. The second one is that this is my way of reacting to all the problems which are finally getting the attention they deserve and the ones that do not have it yet.
Do you like to be hurt? My guess is NO. It should not surprise you that the person infront of you does not like that either. Try to always keep that in mind when you interact with anyone anywhere. This is the Golden Rule of Ethics. If an actions of yours has consequences for any creature - even if it is not alive - you have to ask yourself if you would want the same consequences happening to you. I believe implementing this thought as much as possible into our everyday lifes will make our world better. Try to especially keep this in mind when you get angry, annoyed or frustrated by someone else. Try not to react to them in a rude way. You do not know the current situation of the car driver behind who is stealing "your" spot. Maybe she is in a hurry because she forgot to buy diapers for her newborn yesterday and her husband who has to start his nightshift in 45 minutes is still at home watching their newborn and three year old child. You do not know. Keeping this always in mind especially when we get frustrated is not easy. I am aware that this is a lot to ask. I myself have to admit to you that I do not always act that way. However, I am still encouraging you to start training it. Not every time you get annoyed, but just once a day or even a week. And every time you do it, you will see the magic happen.
Thank you for spending your extremely valuable attention on reading this very first blog post of mine. It really means a lot to me!
